Formalised in 1994 it seeks to look after the interests and welfare of members of the journalism fraternity in the State of Sabah, Malaysia. Affectionately known only as "SJA" among its more than 100 members, the Association also strives to assist in uplifting the standard of journalism in Sabah through its activities and programmes as well as strengthening the existing cordial bond among its members as well as their counterparts all over the world.

As this is the inaugural posting of the Sabah Journalists Association (SJA) official blog it is only apt that we introduce the Association's newly elected office bearers for the 2010-2012 term during our Biennial General Meeting at the Wisma Wanita, Kota Kinabalu, last March.


Datuk Joniston Bangkuai of NSTP who had been leading the SJA since 1994 continued to hold the President post when he won uncontested. The Deputy President post was also won uncontested by Francis Fahir of RTM. 


The rest of the office bearers are Ukim Buandi (Secretary) representing the Information Department, Desy Arishanty Maulwy (Assistant Secretary) representing New Sabah Times, Sandra Sokial (Treasurer) representing Borneo Post and committee members -  Newmond Tibin (Bernama), Jaswinder Kaur (NSTP) Chris Maskilone (Daily Express), Datu Ruslan Datu Sulai (NSTP), Jaidi Jamin (Information Department) and James Tseu (See Hua Daily News).

    Barisan "Kabinet" mantap yang mampu memberi impak positif kepada ahli dan dunia kewartawanan Sabah.
    Semoga berjaya menganjurkan pelbagai program yang menyemarakkan lagi profesion kewartawanan kita.
    Pasti Julai ini, saat yang ditunggu-tunggu - "CALON-CALONNYA"...

    Terima kasih daun keladi sekali lagi kepada Tuan Mohd Azrone Sarabatin.

    Bagi pihak Presiden dan ahli jawatankuasa Persatuan Wartawan Sabah sememangnya itulah niat dan azam kami untuk berkhidmat demi kepentingan persatuan dan ahli-ahli seterusnya memertabatkan lagi dunia kewartawanan Sabah.

    Calon-calon bagi Anugerah Kewartawanan Shell Kinabalu pada bulan Julai nanti ... kita tunggu ...
